DELAWARE ORGANIZATIONS
CAMP
Rehoboth is a nonprofit community service
organization dedicated to creating a more positive environment in Rehoboth Beach
and its related communities.
DEGLC The Delaware Gay and
Lesbian Communicator will keep you informed of many of the happenings in
Delaware's LGBT Community. To subscribe send an email to
deglc-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You may post events to the moderated
list of about 1200 subscribers by sending an email to
deglc@yahoogroups.com.

Delaware LGBT State Employee Alliance is a networking group
for, of and about active and retired State of Delaware employees who are
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. If you qualify for membership join now!
The Delaware
Liberty Fund surveys
candidates for state and local office on LGBT issues, publishes a voter guide
for the LGBT community, endorses candidates and contributes money to their
campaigns.
Delaware
Pride is
dedicated to creating a more visible and united LGBT community throughout
Delaware through outreach, education and referrals. Delaware Pride is the
organizer of the annual Delaware Pride Festival held each autumn.
GLBT Adult Children of Alcoholics & Al-anon
Group
meets at 7PM every Thursday at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3301 Limestone
Rd., Pike
Creek, Delaware. The contact person is Randy at (302)456-9129.

HAVEN is the lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender and allies group for students and faculty of the University of
Delaware as well as for anyone else who wants to show up. It is
educational, political, supportive and social in nature.

The JUST for Youth Coalition is
committed to increasing awareness, reducing risky behaviors and providing
support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trangender and questioning youth in
Delaware.
Jack
Markell is the candidate for governor favored by most of the Delaware LGBT
community. (See the
On a Political Note page
to find out why.) The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008.
Parents,
Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) of Wilmington/Northern
Delaware
promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian,
bisexual, transgender and intersexual persons, their families and friends
through support in coping with an adverse society. Educating, enlightening an
ill-informed public, advocating, ending discrimination and securing
civil-rights, PFLAG also provides the opportunity for dialog about sexual
orientation in confidential settings.
The Progressive Line is
an online
publication dedicated to the voices of social justice, peace, equality and
fairness, especially in the State of Delaware.
The Rainbow
Chorale of Delaware is a community chorus composed (get it?) of LGBT persons
and their friends in a supportive and affirming environment. The Chorale
presents the positive face of Delaware's LGBT community through high quality
musical performance, and supports other institutions and individuals who serve
that community.
"We are here to help each other understand and
express our gender identity, to gain self-acceptance, to reach out to others
like ourselves, and to educate the professional community and the public at
large about transgenderism."

The State of Delaware
official website includes a government
portal with
directories of public officials and bill tracking.
The
Young Democrats Movement stands for the "Democratic Vision" of, among other
things, social justice and equality. They seek to achieve this through
increasing political awareness and action among the youth of America and helping
to elect progressive Democratic candidates (not Dixiecrats) on a state and national level.
NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
The Gay
and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting
and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in
the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on
gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Gay
and Lesbian Victory Fund is committed to increasing the number of openly
gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender public officials at federal, state and
local levels of government.
Using
humor and irreverence rather than anger and protests, Good As You represents a
new generation of LGBT activism through a progressive and light-hearted forum.
They're here to rally the troops!
The Human
Rights Campaign (HRC) effectively lobbies Congress; mobilizes grassroots
action in diverse communities; invests strategically to elect a fair-minded
Congress; and increases public understanding through innovative education and
communication strategies.
The Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund is committed to achieving full
recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgenders,
and people with HIV or AIDS through impact litigation, education, and public
policy work.
The Matthew Shepard Foundation educates and enlightens on the importance
of diversity, understanding, compassion, acceptance and respect; supports
diversity programs in education and helps youth organizations establish
environments where young people can feel safe and be themselves; and seeks to
replace hate with understanding, compassion and acceptance.
The National Black Justice Coalition is a national civil rights organization of
African-American lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies
dedicated to fostering equality by fighting racism and homophobia.

The National Center for
Transgender Equality is a national social justice organization devoted to ending
discrimination and violence against transgender people through education and
advocacy on national issues of importance to transgender people.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF
or "The Task Force") works for the civil rights
of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, with the vision and commitment
to building a powerful political movement.
The
Point Foundation provides financial support, mentoring and hope to meritorious
students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation or gender identity.

The mission of Scouting For All, a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization, is to advocate on behalf of its members and supporters
for the restoration of the traditionally unbiased values of Scouting as
expressed and embodied in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, and to influence the
Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to serve and include as participating members ALL
youth and adult leaders, regardless of their spiritual belief, gender, or sexual
orientation.

The Servicemen's Legal Defense Network (SLDN) is devoted to assisting those
affected by "don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue."
The
purpose of Soulforce is freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender people from religious and political oppression
through the practice of relentless nonviolent resistance.
Truth
Wins Out is a non-profit think tank and educational organization
that counters right wing disinformation campaigns, debunks the “ex-gay” myth,
and provides accurate information about the lives of LGBT people.
